I really like these shoes, very comfortable. I work at a TV/Movie production studio where being quiet on the set is important. After wearing them for two weeks, the left shoe began to squeak in the heel. I tried everything to stop it with no results. Had to stop wearing them.

These are a very comfortable and light weight shoe. They also look great, and there is no big blue thing on the side like in the picture. That is inside the shoe, don't worry.
However, if you are doing any type of job like delivering on a route, or walking a post, then rethink this shoe.
The soles wore out very quickly and you could feel the difference in about 3 weeks or so and almost immediately there was visible damage and wear under the toe box and at the heal strike.
After two months the balls of my feet hurt from the lack of support due to the wear and the shoes stopped fitting well.
For $125, I would like to think I didn't have to buy this shoe 5 times a year. Maybe twice, but more than that is unthinkable.
Also, they didn't really shine up that well, but carried a flat black okay enough for what my job required.
If Bates had a better wearing sole that was also as light, I would go for it. But not this one, sorry.
