GREAT BOOTS!!! I wore mine in Afghanistan for 9 months during winter and summer conditions. Very comfortable, light weight, significantly reduced foot/ankle fatigue with prolonged wear, dry in the winter/snow melt time and cool in summer heat, no need to break in, no blisters. The only complaint I have was the sole broke down so fast. Now understand the terrain is rough and tough on boots with rocks and moon dust. My black pair (922s) has not had this same problem. If it were not for the sole break down and chuncks falling off the outter ring I would still have these boots. That to me was the only thing that kept these boots from being perfect. Yes, I would still strongly recommend these boots to others, I am going to buy another pair.
Note: On this model the EGA on the heel is subtle and not painted on so you can buff it out with a stiff brush. Some (non-USMC/Navy) military units won't appreciate the symbol, but hey in a combat zone who cares, wear whats the most comfortable for you. Yes, the boots are as dark as shown here on the screen.
SEMPER FI!
