Just buy it.
They're amazing. Most comfortable boot I've ever worn. Period. I can't say how they'll perform but as far as fit and comfort and just flat out, overall REALLY GLAD I BOUGHT THEM-ness, they are the freakin' bomb. And sure, it's a combat boot so nobody cares what they look like, but MAN they are beautiful too. I mean it. It's like wearing slippers. I'm headed for a hot zone and I'm just really glad to be touching down in these.

Best Jungle Boots are Bates
For over twenty years that I wear jungle boots (Altama, Corcoran, Original Swat ,French Rangers and many others ... I've never seen this quality of shoes. These are the Best, we adapt a few minutes with amazing comfort .I 'm french, and it's very hard to find US made boots here, thanks to internet and mostly THANKS to everybody at Bates .

Awesome for all of the above, super-lightweight and very comfortable. If you're gonna get wet no matter what and will be able to dry them overnight, perfect.
No good for high-altitude cold weather stuff, though. Use something more appropriate for snow or cold weather operations. I normally wear 10-10.5's and these fit me at 9.5. Most comfortable boots I've ever owned. Civilian canyoneering partners laughed at me for wearing "heavy combat boots" on a trip. Three days later they were all jealous.
