Heavy Duty Boot! - by , Mar 06, 2019
4/ 5 Stars
I have only had these boots a couple weeks. First day I had them I walked into every puddle I could to test the waterproofing. My feet stayed dry all day. The downside to these boots is that they are much heavier than the other Bates tactical boots I’ve had. They also have stitching under the toe in sole of the boot, I can’t remember ever having another boot with this. The size runs a bit large but with an insole (which imo I’ll need because they are not the most comfortable to wear 16 hours) i think they would fit perfect.

Damaged upon arrival - by , Sep 26, 2018

The boots arrived and when I took them out of the box both boots had the same problem. On both of the boots the stitching on the tongue was coming apart at the seams and the padded material was coming out.

Great durable boot, runs big though. - by , Jul 26, 2018

So I just got my boots in today. I'm not sure if they need breaking in or what but previous boots that I have worn in the past seem to form to my feet as well as leg, for 8 in boots. These are definitely great boots though I think they run a little big as my feet slipped when I tried them on.

Great fit, waterproof tested daily. - by , Jul 11, 2018

I work in corrections and walk from 10 to 15 miles a night always out doors. It may be raining or just the dew on the grass that soaks my pants but my feet are dry and comfortable. My 4th pair of Bates boots winter and summer they are built bto endure.

Exceeded my expectations... - by , Mar 15, 2018

9.5 EEE. For my entire life, I've had the hardest time finding boots that fit well without compromise. I always had to grab a 10 to compensate for my wide width. I'm sure many of you have done the same. I work on my feet, and hard on my boots. I'll burn through soles in no time flat. So, for my next choice of boots, I wanted it all... comfort, size, fit & finish, the ability to hold a shine, and most importantly, re-soleable. After reading numerous reviews on these boots, I had to give 'em a closer look... Out on assignment out of state, I found a retail store that actually had them... 10W, 10M, and 9.5W... When I finally got to the 9.5W, I was anticipating disappointment. Boy, was I wrong... they were perfect... SO perfect, I did a "happy dance" (it was a uniform store (Galls), and several officers were looking at me funny). Needless to say, I'm sold. In fact, I'll be sharing my experience with key people in my organization, to make a recommendation to have these boots as "recommended footwear" for our uniforms... Good job, Bates...

Best Tactical Boot Value Ever experienced - by , Nov 26, 2017

These boots compare to Danners but our comfortable and work well for LE and Tactical Street applications. Wear with thick socks and your good to go. I just bought a second pair for rotation and we will see if these bad boys hold up. Wish they had the speed lace on the last two lace holes but not a deal killer.

Sole just melted - DuraShocks® Waterproof Lace-to-toe Boot - by , Nov 11, 2017
2/ 5 Stars
While riding my motorcycle through Las Vegas in 110 degree weather I put my foot down at a stoplight. When I lifted it back up the sole remain behind. I had the shoes resoled at a reputable shoe repair where they put on Vibram. Same thing, sole flopping in the wind. So they stitched through the heel to make the connection structural. Now wherever I walk I leave chunks of the old bates sole behind. The uppers are fine, with the exception of a little frying of the fabric at the ankle. They just used rubber that doesn't last.

Worn everyday and still in good shape - by , Jul 01, 2017
5/ 5 Stars
I purchased these when I began Field Training. 8 months later, they are still going strong and are the only pair I use. Because I use them every time I work (three 12.5 hour shifts) they are worn in and it's time for another pair. When it is hot, these do not get much ventilation, most likely due to the fact they are waterproof. My feet do tire after standing for long periods of time, but I have had that problem with other boots as well. I'm flat footed. Overall, great boots if rotated with another pair. And they are waterproof. I went into a pot hole full of water and was dry while my partner was upset.

Good Boot - Comparable to Acadia - by , Mar 14, 2017
4/ 5 Stars
I bought these after wearing the Danner Acadia boot for a few years. Honestly I wasn't overly impressed with the Acadia and I actually found this boot to hold up better over a 2 year span. The soles held up better as did the stitching for the nylon sides. I also found this boot to have a more rounded toe so I didn't feel like I was jamming my foot into a pair of pointed women's dress shoes as I did with the Acadia The shortcomings of this boot vs the Acadia were: -This is an overall stiffer boot. It didn't work in nearly as much as the Acadia. -In cold weather the soles get very hard and slippery. When waking down the halls in the station it sounds like I'm wearing a pair of tap dancing shoes All in all I am impressed with this boot and would say it's an all around better value than the Acadia.

Sore feet anyone? - by , Jan 14, 2017

While these boots appear to be made well and look great, they killed my feet. It's amazing that on my off days my feet feel so much better. No wear on them yet they feel as if I fell off a tall building directly on my heels. I've never had issues with my feet until investing in these.
