Amazing boots all around - by , Mar 13, 2018
5/ 5 Stars
I didn't know how to size these on here as I got these second hand from a friend who is 4 sizes bigger than I am. (I'm a 7.5, he's 9.5) These boots have definitely stood up. He had these for several years before the pair came into my possession. There's a few holes, could use new laces, and the tread is worn down...But I have not had any issues wearing them despite the big size difference. They have been the most comfortable boots to just walk around in and do what I need to do through out the day. Will definitely be buying a pair or two in my size in the near future. I am absolutely in love these boots!

I always wanted a tatical zip up style boots. I've tried some from my local Big 5 stores that was way cheaper but fit was uncomfortable. I finally heard about the Bates tatical brand and I finally bought a pair of the tactical sport composite toe zip ups. I can't say anything more about these boots besides it's now my favorite everyday footwear. Wish I got these years ago.

The only boots I've worn in 5+ years - by , Mar 09, 2018

I first discovered Bates Composite toe work boots when a SafGard boot truck came to my work place. I was immediately attracted to them by their ultra-light weight. I stand on my feet 10+ hours a day in the industry and having a light weight boot makes moving around that much less fatiguing. I also liked the idea of the combat zipper, as I'm usually still half asleep at 4:30am as I'm trying to put my boots on, and not having to tie boots means one less thing to think about. These boots also breathe very well, which is important to my as my feet perspire much more than the average person. I currently own three pairs of these boots, all completely identical just of different ages, that I cycle through. By wearing each pair once in three days, I usually end up getting a year of life from each pair. They anre't the longest lasting boots on the market, but for me that's to be expected with a boot that's so light. I've shown people that these boots, with a composite toe, weigh less than some sneakers. I will continue to purchase these Bates until they no longer offer these exact same boots, which hopefully never happens.

For the past 10 years I have bought nothing but this boot to use. I have two pairs one for everyday use and one for work use and will never think of buying another boot!

Looks really well built but did run about a size large. I typically wear a 15 and returned them for a 14

Doesn't last - by , Jan 22, 2018

I wore through these boots in 9 months which is depressing given the cost. The pair of Bates I had before those only lasted 6. Seams always break and the whole thing just falls apart. But that's twice as long as a cheap alternative lasted so I keep coming back.

I have wanted a pair of BATES boots for some time now, I finally decided on this book because I adore the look and love the reviews. I have an usually wide shaped foot and need a 10.5EEE, when I got the boots in the mail they were just "10.5 Extra Wide." Having ordered them on Amazon I complained and got no where. The initial fit was very tight but I decided to break them in, my pinkie toes were numb a few days but then the leather streched and they become VERY comfortable. Which is amazing really, all credit to Bates superior quality. HOWEVER, three weeks in now and the seam where the leather meets the sole is coming apart on both sides all the way around, on both boots. I am heartbroken. I had already decided that Bates Boots are the only shoe im ever going to wear again. And they still might be, I realize a lot of this may be due to needing one size wider, but still. I can't afford to immediately order another pair after just 3 weeks, however I leave for deployment in a few weeks. If a get a wider pair someday and the seams don't come apart then I'll probably wear Bates for the rest of my life because I love the boots.

Just ok - by , Dec 26, 2017

Love my old Bates which is what made me look at them when I needed new ones but was disappointed to see that there was literally only 2 women’s boots with a safety toe option which made me have to look into the men’s boots. Went off the sizing conversion I have always used when having to buy men’s shoes and the boots were still a bit too big but not big enough for me to be able to go down to the next size. The toe box is pretty wide which actually causes some side to side movement and my pinkie toe rubbing against the side of the boot at times causing a blister. The insoles in the boot itself are pretty comfortable and my feet usually don’t hurt from just standing 10 hours or more (besides the discomfort mentioned above). The side zip feature is great although the lacing right at the bend of the ankle makes it difficult to slip the boot on and off comfortably unless I completely untie and loosen the boot up

Comfortable well made. Wear them everyday for work. My order got mixed up and they originally sent me someone else's order. After talking to customer service three times I finally got a representative who understood the mistake and got it corrected quickly.
