Bates Footwear had the opportunity last week to attend the GRPD Explorers Family Fun Night. The Law Enforcement Explorers Program allows young students who are between the ages of 14 and 21, the opportunity to learn about the purposes, mission, and objectives of Law Enforcement. Explorers participate in classroom training, along with real world trainings such as a ride-along, pistol shooting, community policing, and more.

The Family Fun Night gave families and outside participants an opportunity to see first hand what these Explorers are learning. Some of the trainings we were able to witness included: Milo training, tactical room clearing, and role play scenario participation. The event was a great way to grow the knowledge base of this great program and provide a glimpse into what these students do on a daily basis.

Bates is honored to be partnered with the GRPD, and very thankful for the recognition we received at the event. We take pride in outfitting the Explorers with boots each year. Thank you to the Grand Rapids Police Department for allowing us the opportunity to help these students grow in their careers!
