Today and every day, we recognize the accomplishments and contributions of women. Here are just a few of the incredible women we are celebrating in the Bates’ community.
- “I feel honored and blessed to have been a firefighter for 22yrs so far .. it gives me a sense of pride knowing I help make a difference in the community with the citizens I serve. I especially love the fact that I’m graded equally amongst my peers and have to perform to the set standard. Fire doesn’t care if I am a man or woman or about my age, as long as I can do the job.”
- “The profession of physical therapy was founded by women 101 years ago. I’m proud to be a female sports physical therapist who will continue to push the boundaries for women into the next century of our profession, specifically in the male dominated arena of sports. As a physical therapist I have the unique opportunity to work closely alongside my patients pushing them past their perceived limits until they achieve their goals. My patients become like family and often times many become friends long after the weeks of therapy are over. My advanced training as an emergency responder for athletic coverage introduced me to The Tactical Games where I have met countless other strong women who are challenging the boundaries in their professional career spaces as well. Being involved with The Tactical Games has not only given me an outlet to challenge my own limits so I can better support my patients on their journeys but also has given me a community of like-minded female warriors that truly exemplify the Games’ motto “no off-season” when it comes to health, wellness and pushing the boundaries for what women are capable of achieving.”
- “In the world of fitness, weightlifting, and shooting, our tools don’t care if we are a guy or a girl. Success is only determined by my hard work and I’m proud to be a woman that was taught how to work hard.”
- “Womens History Month to me is a celebration to all the female law enforcement officers female and MMA fighters who broke down the gender barriers with grace, dignity, and hard work to pave the way for all us women who have followed in their footsteps”
