Bates Footwear awarded Lieutenant Paul Dorsey with its first-ever Step Up 2 Serve Award.
The Step Up 2 Serve Award recognizes the first responders, law enforcement officers, and firefighters who serve their communities every day.
Nominated by his wife, Lieutenant Paul Dorsey has worked in public service for 23 years, has four children, and spends what free time he has volunteering in his community.
Bates thanks each one of these brave men and women for risking their lives to protect us.
Paul Dorsey’s full nomination:
“My nominee is my husband, Paul. He has faithfully and dutifully served this city for 23 years. as a Firefighter, Engineer, and now recently promoted Lieutenant on the Chicago Fire Department. But not only serves at work. In our community, he shovels snow, cuts grass, talks to the youth, and partnered with me 100% to raise our 4 sons, homeschool 2 of them, and was my absolute rock during my recent breast cancer diagnosis. He went to every single chemo infusion and appt with me and kept me smiling through one of the toughest times in my life. He is always quick to help someone, give back, and lift up. He is my family’s hero and a blessing to many.”
