The shoe was everything I expected. - by , Oct 10, 2019

Just like my last pair, these boots fit like a glove. Most comfortable brand of boots I have ever owned. Ordering, shipping and delivery was a breeze.

Nice, boot. Just not sized correctly. - by , Mar 18, 2019

I always loved Bates boots. Been a while since I've had a pair. I bought these because they seemed to be one of the few with all the features I was looking for; hot weather, comp toe, coyote brown, and void of the zipper on the inside. They run a bit large, which I knew from prior Bates I've owned. So I downsize from a 10R to a 9R. I'm not sure if it's a characteristic of the comp toe, but they are definitely wider than normal. Unfortunately, they don't make a narrow size in this model. So I'm keeping the 9R, and it'll just be slightly on the loose side because they're still better than other boots I tried out. Also, I do wish the tongue of the boot was more the traditional type that goes all the way to the top from side to side. It would take away the need for the lace loop in the center of the tongue to keep them straight and enable an easier speed lace, in my opinion. But that's just me. I have only worn the boots for a couple weeks now, so I can't speak to the quality too much, but I've always been impressed with Bates in that regard.

It’s always hard to find just the right shoe size. However these boots follow close to the military shoe sizes, I was able to get the right size for the job.

Almost perfect - by , Nov 13, 2018

Bought these the summer before my freshman year coming into a military college. I'm now a second semester junior so I've had them for about 3.5 years. Also used them working in a factory and with electricians for two summers, plus training. Changed the insoles bc there was too much room above my foot and needed more padding, and the laces so they would lace up easier, but that was it. Soles have started to separate but the boots are still in magnificent shape. I would resole them but the inside heel mesh wore off recently and the supports are beginning to rip holes in my socks, so they're probably on their last "leg". I love these boots and I'm keeping this pair until they fall off my feet.

Good boot - by , Sep 23, 2018

I did not have any expectations on the boot. But it is an over all good boot. Don’t know about longevity yet. Pros: -lighter and far more breathable than the Danner Tanicus composite toe -they are not as bulky and the toe does not stick upwards as much as on other safety toe boots Cons: -glue around sole is sloppy -laces could be parachord to make lacing easier

Boots are comfortable after trying on and wearing around the house. I can't speak to their longevity until they are authorized in October. Many places on both boots where glue is either seeping from where the sole attaches, or their is glue that ended up on the leather. If they were priced higher I'd have complaints about all the leftover glue.

Great boots. I work in the construction field and use them for everyday use. My only issue is that the insoles could use more cushion. That is the only thing I changed on them was the insoles. Other then that the most amazing boots I have ever had.

Hiking and Work Boot - by , Mar 26, 2018

These boots are very comfortable. Much lighter than my Red Wings or Oliver’s. Good support on my ankles and soft foot bed. Time will tell on wear but as long as they last a year, I’ll be happy. My company reimburses me for a pair of boots every year.
