Bates Shoe Care
Tips to keep your Bates boots
and shoes looking like new.

Leather Care
- Remove laces and clean footwear with a dry cloth.
- Allow to air dry — uppers can be stuffed with paper, if desired, to help in drying.
- Polish regularly with a quality footwear polish to protect and nourish the leather and provide a long–lasting shine.

High Gloss Care
- Remove laces and clean footwear with a damp cloth.
- Clean and polish regularly with a Poromeric Cleaner.

Rough Side Out Care
- Use short, quick strokes with a stiff bristle brush to remove excess dirt from boots.
- If heavily soiled, wash with mild soap and air dry.
- If stain has been caused by oil apply cornstarch on the stain and let sit overnight. Remove cornstarch with a stiff brush after.

Quick Shine
- If you don’t have time for a full polish, use the Bates Magic Shine Sponge.
- Gently apply sponge across all leather areas of boot for a bright, clean shine.

White Leather Care
- Remove laces and clean footwear with a damp cloth.
- Allow to air dry — uppers can be stuffed with paper, if desired, to help in drying.
- Polish regularly with a quality white footwear polish to protect and nourish the leather and provide a long-lasting shine.

Additional Care Tips
- Make sure you match the color of polish to the color of your shoes.
- Shoes will last longer if they are cleaned regularly.
- Give wet shoes plenty of time to dry out. Damp leather is sensitive to heat, and harsh drying causes hardening and distortion. Never put wet shoes in front of a fire or on a radiator. Let them dry naturally at room temperature.
